About Prima
Making a good first instrument the normal choice.
Placeholder copy: Prima is the student-focused sibling brand of Victoria Strings London, set up to bring the same standard of care to instruments for beginners, schools and music services.
Placeholder copy: Prima was started because too many first instruments make learning harder than it needs to be — strings that won’t hold pitch, bridges warped out of the box, bows that were never rehaired before sale. None of that is the student’s fault, and none of it should be acceptable at any price point.
Placeholder copy: working alongside our sister workshop, Victoria Strings London, we apply the same attention to set-up and quality control to a range built specifically for students — sized correctly across the full range from 1/16 to full size, and priced for families and schools buying more than one instrument at a time.
Placeholder copy: today Prima supplies individual students, private teachers and school music services across the UK and Europe, with a small team dedicated entirely to inspection, set-up and after-sales support.

What guides us
Three things we don’t compromise on.
Consistent, not just cheap
Placeholder copy: our goal isn't the lowest possible price — it's the most reliable instrument at a genuinely fair price. Every model is built to the same specification across every unit.
Set up by hand
Placeholder copy: no instrument leaves our workshop straight from the box. Bridges, soundposts and strings are checked and adjusted by our own team before dispatch.
Designed with teachers
Placeholder copy: we review specifications with working music teachers and school music services so our sizing and set-up match what's expected in lessons and exams.
Quality control
Checked by hand before it reaches you.
Placeholder copy: every Prima instrument passes through our own set-up bench — strings fitted, bridge positioned, soundpost checked, action adjusted — before it is cased and shipped. If anything isn’t right, it doesn’t go out.
